Opening
Content is powerful.
But at some point, you want your expertise to leave your own platform.
You want other people inviting you into conversations.
Podcasts. Panels. Events. Interviews. Media. Conferences.
Rooms you didn't create.
That's how authority expands.
Speaking forces clarity
When you're asked to explain what you believe in front of an audience, you learn quickly whether your message is clear.
Speaking makes you organize your thinking.
What's your point?
What's your framework?
What's your story?
What's the takeaway?
Those skills make everything else better.
Build signature topics
You should have three to five things you could confidently speak about.
Not fifty.
For me, themes could include:
Discipline. High performance. Leadership. Career reinvention. Business and ownership.
Your signature topics should connect your experience with something useful to the audience.
Podcasts
Don't think only about the biggest podcasts in the world.
Start relevant.
A smaller podcast with exactly the right audience can create more value than a huge general audience.
When pitching yourself, don't say:
"I'd love to come on."
Explain why your story or expertise creates value for their audience.
Interviews
When you're interviewed, don't try to sound perfect.
Listen. Answer the question. Use examples. Tell stories. Have a point.
And remember the core ideas you want associated with your name.
An interview is another branding opportunity.
Networking
Networking isn't collecting business cards.
It's building relationships.
Be useful. Follow up. Remember people. Make introductions. Keep your word.
Your reputation inside a room can become more valuable than your follower count outside of it.
Live video
Go live. Teach. Answer questions.
You don't need everything scripted.
Live communication builds confidence and shows expertise in real time.
Turn attention into opportunity
One interview can lead to:
A client. A partnership. Another podcast. A speaking opportunity. Media. A business relationship. A new audience.
But you have to follow up.
Opportunity is usually connected.
Your assignment
Create three signature speaking topics.
For each one write:
Title. Who it's for. Three things the audience will learn. One personal story. One framework.
Then identify ten podcasts, events, communities, or organizations where your message would be relevant.
Start outreach.
Closing
Authority grows when you stop waiting for people to discover you and start putting yourself in the right conversations.
Now we've built the pieces.
In our final lesson, we're turning everything into execution.
Thirty days. Real actions. Measurable results.
Signature Topics & Outreach List
Three topics you can own. Ten rooms worth getting into.
