Opening
If you wake up every morning asking:
"What should I post today?"
You don't have a content strategy.
You have a daily emergency.
Content pillars fix that.
Your content pillars are the major subjects you repeatedly discuss because they support your brand position.
Three to five pillars
Most people need between three and five.
For me, those might include:
Discipline and Champion Mindset. Business and ownership. Leadership. Performance. Legacy.
Now almost everything I create can fit somewhere.
That's structure.
Education
Education teaches.
"Here are three ways to improve..."
"This is what I learned..."
"Here's how this works..."
Educational content builds usefulness.
Authority
Authority content demonstrates expertise.
Case studies. Analysis. Frameworks. Speaking clips. Professional environments. Deep explanations.
Authority says:
"I understand this."
Story
Story creates connection.
Career experiences. Failures. Transitions. Lessons. Behind-the-scenes moments.
Story answers:
"Why should I care about the person teaching me?"
Opinion
Opinion communicates perspective.
What do you believe?
What do you disagree with?
What standards do you hold?
Opinion differentiates you.
But don't become controversial simply for attention.
Have a point.
Lifestyle
Lifestyle gives context to the person.
Training. Travel. Workday. Family when appropriate. Preparation. Routines. Behind the scenes.
Lifestyle should support the brand rather than overwhelm it.
Proof
Results. Customer wins. Testimonials. Accomplishments. Before-and-after. Press. Credentials.
Proof shows that the message is supported.
Promotion
And yes, you need promotional content.
People cannot buy something they never hear about.
Tell them about your offer.
Tell them how to work with you.
Tell them what the product does.
Just don't make every post an advertisement.
Build your architecture
Under each pillar, create five subtopics.
Now you have twenty to twenty-five subject areas.
Under each subject, create:
Education. Story. Opinion. Proof.
Now you could have months of content.
That's why strategy matters.
Your assignment
Choose 3–5 pillars.
For each, write:
Why does this belong in my brand?
What can I teach?
What stories do I have?
What proof do I have?
What opinions do I hold?
Then rank them by importance.
Closing
Your content pillars determine what you talk about.
Now we need to talk about how you communicate those ideas.
Because random content can get attention.
Strategic content builds a brand.
Content Pillar Architecture
Three to five pillars, five subtopics each, ranked by importance.
Add your first pillar to start.
